This Week In WWE is a weekly show that airs on the WWE Network, highlighting, as you may have guessed, the past week in the WWE. Additionally it looks at some of the latest WWE Network additions. Let’s take a more in depth look on some of the events covered along with some opinions on the latest happenings in the company.
The show opens with Scott Stanford welcoming viewers to This Week In WWE. We get a look back at what happened in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Sheamus and Roman Reigns at WWE TLC. Then, we get a look at the attack on Triple H after that match.
We then get shown what happened on Monday Night Raw with Roman Reigns. Stephanie McMahon confronting Roman Reigns and then slapping him repetitively. Vince McMahon asks Roman Reigns to apologise. Sheamus walks out and says he wants to beat an apology out of Reigns and wants the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line, if Reigns loses this match, he’d be fired. We then get shown Roman Reigns celebrating his championship win with his ‘brothers’, The Usos and Dean Ambrose which happened off air, after Monday Night Raw.
It was nice to see off air footage of WWE Raw, which doesn’t get shown very often and it’s a good way to boost viewership for WWE recap shows like This Week In WWE and WWE Bottomline.
Selfies that Superstars have taken this week get shown on the show. The following superstars selfies were used: Brie Bella, Natalya, David Otunga, Dolph Ziggler, Charlotte and The Rock.
We then get a look at The Rock’s Muscle and Fitness cover photoshoot and his history with Muscle and Fitness magazine. We also get a preview of the Stone Cold Steve Austin podcast which aired on the WWE Network with Shawn Michaels.
We get a look at what happened in the WWE Intercontinental Championship match with Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose and Ambrose’s championship celebration. We then get shown the match on Raw a night after TLC featuring Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler and Owens interference in that match.
This three-man feud may come across as quite boring to a regular WWE viewer who may watch weekly or a new viewer who recently found out about the WWE and the WWE Network but the video packages that play explain this feud in more detail. We then get shown a quick look at Ambrose’s sit-down interview with WWE.com and Michael Cole.
We then get shown a video of Dolph Ziggler getting powerbombed on top of Ambrose by Kevin Owens on Raw and Ziggler’s interview on WWE Thursday Night SmackDown. We get a look at Kevin Owens match against Ziggler on SmackDown. The referee ending the match and then WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose running down to the ring with the IC Championship and brawling with Owens in-ring. Ambrose came to help Ziggler in the entrance ramp but got hit with a superkick by Ziggler.
After, we get a quick look at ‘Santa’s Little Helper’ which features WWE Superstar, The Miz and WWE Diva, Paige.
The show then cuts to a look at Lana’s relationship with Rusev and congratulates them on getting engaged. We then get a look at ‘Sisters’, starring John Cena.
Next we go back to ‘Santa’s Little Helper’ and a look on set of the movie. Paige and The Miz speak about filming the movie and some of the scenes. The ‘Santa’s Little Helper’ video segment cuts off once finished and then WWE Week on the USA Network gets promoted.
We then get a look at this week’s Slammin’ 7 (Stylised as Slamm7n). To end This Week In WWE, we get shown Roman Reigns on ESPN SportsCenter with ‘The Coach’, Jonathan Coachman and the show finishes.
Closing Thoughts
This week’s episode of This Week In WWE is good if you can’t catch WWE Thursday Night SmackDown or WWE Monday Night Raw on cable and want to get caught up.
