Every Thursday or Friday night the WWE Network updates its schedule advertising new content set to air on the live stream in the coming week. It should be noted that like anything, schedules are tentative and air times, air dates, and programs are always subject to change. Additionally, this reflects only what is set to air on the Network stream and does not include content added directly to the video-on-demand service.
This week, however, the schedule has come out on Tuesday. For those who follow the schedule weekly, this almost always means the week will be a very slow one. Lo and behold, it is most certainly an incredibly slow week. Really, the only thing of note is that we have the season finale of Breaking Ground.
Monday – January 4th
RAW Pre-Show (7:30 PM EST)
“From WWE Studios in Stamford Connecticut. Scott Stanford, David Otunga and Corey Graves cover all the events leading up to Monday Night Raw.”
WWE Breaking Ground (11:06 PM EST)
“Season Finale, all roads lead to NXT TakeOver: Respect, where one Superstar or Diva will be getting the call up to the main roster.”
Wednesday – January 6th
WWE NXT (8 PM EST)
“Part two of NXT’s Best of 2015, hosted by Rich Brennan and Corey Graves!”
Friday – January 8th
WWE Superstars (3 PM EST)
“WWE Superstars features the best of the best in matches you’ll have to see to believe. You never know what to expect – so expect everything!”
Saturday – January 9th
This Week In WWE (3 PM EST)
“Get caught up on all the highlights from Raw and SmackDown with This Week in WWE.”
Closing Thoughts
So yeah, wow. A very slow week once again where even NXT isn’t something special. The only real positive we have is that the Breaking Ground episode is new and the season finale, so while that’s bitter sweet, at least it is original content. The past few weeks being slow have made sense, even if it is disappointing. We had a PPV, a live special, and holidays. But this? I have no answer for this. I thought for sure new content would hit the service as soon as the first week of the new year began. I can understand people being frustrated. I just hope we continue getting plenty of archived content to make up for the slowness. At least looking ahead we know we have the Ric Flair edition of the Stone Cold Podcast the following week.
