Every Thursday or Friday night the WWE Network updates its schedule advertising new content set to air on the live stream in the coming week. It should be noted that like anything, schedules are tentative and air times, air dates, and programs are always subject to change. Additionally, this reflects only what is set to air on the Network stream and does not include content added directly to the video-on-demand service.

We’ve known for several days now that WWE Ride Along will be debuting this week immediately following RAW, although we didn’t know much else. Now we found out a little more about the program, in particular that it will be about 30 minutes long. While that is kind of short, the program likely doesn’t lend itself to being long form. Besides, there will be plenty of other content, right?

Closing Thoughts

Okay, maybe we won’t be getting more original programming. Really? Listen, I try to be as optimistic as possible and chances are WCW Nitro episodes will keep pouring in to complete 1998 and 1999. However this is just ridiculous. Outside of the usual content we receive, which in and of itself adds up to three hours, we only are getting 30 minutes of original programming. A reminder, when the WWE Network first launched we had three hours from three programs alone in Wrestlemania Rewind, Countdown, and The Monday Night Wars. That isn’t even including Legend’s House or any other programs.

It has been a really bad drought for original content for awhile now and unfortunately we have at least another week of it. We know Edge and Christian’s show will be coming in February, so hopefully that will help make things a little more interesting, although part of me feels like we still won’t be seeing more than an hour of original programming each week until after Wrestlemania season. And that is pretty disappointing.

As always, stick to the WWE Network Chronicle for more news, reviews, polls, and more!
