Every week WWE Superstars is presented on the WWE Network, usually being added around 3 PM EST. I am a fan and watch the show religiously so why not share some thoughts and insight, especially for those who may not keep up with it and want to know what they’re missing, or conversely, those who do and want to see what others may think?

Once again we have Rich Brennan and Byron Saxton on commentary for this week. Looking at this show, it should be solid at worst, but potentially a strong episode. It doesn’t have huge names, but the names involved are solid enough. Let’s see how it is, shall we?

Natalya vs. Summer Rae

WWE Network

Summer Rae’s fanbase is starting to grow. More and more people are speaking out online on reddit, Twitter, etc. about her getting a push. While I don’t necessarily want to see her pushed above a lot of talent, namely a Sasha or Becky, I do think she is underrated and I’m glad to see her in action more often as of late. Even if we just saw this match.

Again, it was solid. It wasn’t anything memorable, much like before I honestly forgot a lot of it after it happened, but Natalya won with a sharpshooter and the crowd was happy. Fun and inoffensive wrestling. No complaints here.

Winner: Natalya

After Natalya celebrates, we get a look at the Shane McMahon, Vince McMahon, and Undertaker segment from RAW. Despite being big on Shane being back and a huge Undertaker fan, I didn’t love this. Shane’s mistake was unfortunate but in general them attempting to make Shane seem credible with Taker just doesn’t feel realistic to me.

After that we had a look at the Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar feud and what happened on RAW. Ambrose needing a crowbar or barbed wire to beat Brock makes sense with how he was booked, and fans aren’t against it. I still don’t see him getting the win, since he basically never gets it, but I’d love to be surprised.

Finally, before the main event we had JoJo interviewing Tyler Breeze. I say this every week but I cannot believe how criminally underused Breeze is right now. Regardless of the reasoning, whatever they are rumored to be, it is such a shame. He is a great talent wasting away. Hopefully WWE wises up and changes things or just sends him back to NXT.

Tyler Breeze vs. Zack Ryder

WWE Network

As said previously, this is a shame. I like Superstars. I think talent being on it sometimes is a good thing, and for a lot of people the show is a huge boost. But a Tyler Breeze does not belong on Main Event and Superstars every week. He should at least be in the upper-mid card ranks with a Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens. Instead, here he is.

While this means a strong match with two talented guys, I can’t help but feel negative about it because Breeze shouldn’t be subjected to this show. I honestly hope he just goes back to NXT. At least then he can be used in bigger matches. Sure, sometimes he was kind of stuck in limbo, but limbo is better than what he’s had thus far.

Anyway, the match itself was quite good. Ryder won, which is also frustrating even though I’m a big Ryder fan and I think he is turning into a super high quality guy. Good match, just not what Tyler Breeze should be doing. The El-bro drop is fun though.

Winners: Zack Ryder

After Ryder celebrates, the show ends by looking at Triple H vs. Dolph Ziggler, which I thought was a good match, followed by the return of Roman Reigns which was not well received. You’ve got to think WWE was hoping for more cheers than this after taking him off TV for a few weeks. Yikes. That wraps up this week’s episode of Superstars.

Closing Thoughts

This was a good episode of Superstars. Not one of the best, but both matches were at least fine. The Divas match wasn’t memorable, but it was decent enough. I thought the main event was good for sure, with Ryder really being a guy who delivers on this and Main Event week in and week out. Not too much else to say, a decent episode of WWE Superstars.
