Recently in a WWE Network News editorial I proposed that Coliseum Videos along with WWF Home Video releases should find their way to the WWE Network. Many people reacted favorably to this concept. But it wasn’t just nostalgia.
Many who supported the idea were more modern or casual fans who either just want as much content on the service as possible, or in many cases, are interested in learning about wrestling history and diving into the archives but have no real launching point to see what interests them. Naturally, this would provide that.
So the question is: would you want to see Coliseum Video releases appear on the service? This would cover a number of topics, from international shows to best of’s to Superstar specific shows that usually cover between one and two hours in length.
Personally, I think it is obvious I would want it since I proposed the idea. I see it being beneficial in tons of ways. It helps new fans get into older content. It provides nostalgia for those looking for it, and it further expands the WWE Network library pushing it more as the library of professional wrestling. Heck, maybe we could someday see WCW and ECW releases as well?
