Remember that 2005 Smackdown folder that was empty and likely pointed to this month’s drop? Well, it remained empty while some WCW Monday Nitro episodes began appearing, crushing the hopes of those excited by 2004 and 2005 Smackdown being completed.
In good news for those fans, at least one episode of Smackdown is appearing this month with episode 316 from 2005, no longer keeping that folder empty. The episode is a memorable one as well, with Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio going at it in a steel cage while Batista defends the World Heavyweight Championship against JBL.
So what does this episode actually mean? Possibly not much. It could have been an episode added some time ago that was never made available. It could be prepping for the July drop. But there is always the chance the service is doing some sort of Nitro/Smackdown split. But for now, take it as a one off. But as always, if more arrive we will update you.
