Every week WWE Superstars is presented on the WWE Network, usually being added around 3 PM EST. I am a fan and watch the show religiously so why not share some thoughts and insight, especially for those who may not keep up with it and want to know what they’re missing, or conversely, those who do and want to see what others may think?
This week’s Superstars is the second from the brand extension era. It should be noted that this review is a week late, due to personal issues preventing me from getting this, along with NXT and CWC reviews out. Either way, the commentary team is Corey Graves and Tom Phillips, who always make for a great team on NXT. It’ll be interesting to see if their magic still works on Superstars. But enough of that, let’s see how the show was:
Neville vs. Curtis Axel
Neville’s return to the WWE has been so lackluster. It is such a shame, as the guy has so much talent and he is definitely being wasted. Maybe his tag team with Sin Cara will go somewhere, or if worst comes to worst maybe he can tear it up in the Cruiserweight division in a month or two.
This was a fun little match though. Mr. Irrelevant isn’t something I really can get behind, and keeping him away from Bo seems pointless since neither guy is doing anything, but he is capable of having good matches. And while this was mostly Neville enhancement, it was fun nonetheless. Neville wins with the Red Arrow.
Winner: Neville
Due to having less time, I’ll give less attention to the recap. Which, to be fair, is probably something most don’t care about anyway. I thought RAW was strong for the first two weeks,though Finn Balor’s promo with Seth Rollins definitely wasn’t much to write home about.
Jack Swagger and Sin Cara vs. The Dudleys (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley)
This was a solid match. It was a fairly standard Dudleys B-show match, where they have their heat and Bubba is loud for it. This leads to a decent comeback, which thankfully wasn’t too messy here. But hey, the Dudleys picked up the win! That isn’t something we see a lot these days.
Sin Cara and Swagger were decent enough together for a thrown-together team. Of course, we know Sin Cara would team with Neville a few days later on RAW, so maybe it was pointless. But who cares? Superstars isn’t about major stories or career paths. Its about good old fashioned fun. And this was somewhat fun. Dudleys win with the 3D.

After the Dudleys celebrate, we get a look at the Charlotte and Sasha Banks story followed by the Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar feud to wrap up Superstars for this week.

Closing Thoughts
This episode of Superstars was fairly standard. No match was better than “fun”, so it isn’t something anyone needs to go out of their way to see. Still, seeing Neville in action is always fun enough and the main event was decent for what it was.
