Every week, NXT is aired on the WWE Network. With NXT becoming one of the WWE’s hottest products every WWE Network subscriber should try it out. The commentary team is the duo of Tom Phillips and Corey Graves.
This week’s episode of NXT kicked off with a look back at last years Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. It then took a look at this year’s tournament which has a diverse field of competitors.
Match 1-Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Match.
The Bollywood Boyz Vs The Authors of Pain.

The first match this week was also the first in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It saw former CWC competitors The Bollywood Boyz take on the NXT monster tag team known as the Authors of Pain. The Bollywood Boyz would look to make an impact on NXT.
This was a decent match. It once again saw the Authors of Pain dominate most of the match before they came away with the win to advance in the tournament. It was good seeing the Bollywood Boys on NXT, though. I hope they will stay to help fill out the tag team division.
Winners-Authors of Pain.
Match 2-Rich Swann Vs Patrick Clark.

The second match on this week’s NXT saw another former CWC ompetitor in action. Rich Swann took on former Tough Enough star Patrick Clark in Clark’s NXT debut with the new look. He had previously been on with very American attire.
These two had a decent match, though. The match, which saw Swann really impressing and I hope he succeeds in NXT and the RAW Cruiserweight division, was mostly Swann dominating. I’m interested in seeing how Clark career goes. In the end Swann, came away with the win after hitting the handspring moonsault.
Winner-Rich Swann.
Match 3-Peyton Royce Vs Danielle Kamela.

The next match this week saw Peyton Royce and Danielle Kamela go one on one. Royce made her return to NXT this week after not appearing for a while. She is back with her fellow Aussie Billie Kay. I’m not sure if Kamela has competed on NXT before.
These two had a good match, I thought. It saw Royce playing the heel perfectly. Peyton came away with the win after hitting the variant of a fisherman suplex. Solid stuff here.
Winner-Peyton Royce.
After this match, we got a backstage interview with Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger. They spent the interview hyping up their match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic next week against the debuting team Sanity. They showed some clear chemistry as an on-air duo, but not so much as a team.
Next we were meant to have the debut of Dan Matha, who has had video packages hyping his debut the last few weeks, however as he got into the ring Samoa Joe came out and attacked him. After beating down Matha, Joe got the microphone and once again blamed NXT GM William Regal for this. He told him again to either give him a match against Nakamura or give him the NXT Championship. He warned Regal that things would only be escalated further if he doesn’t get what he wants.
Next we got a backstage interview with another team in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The team? Well, the team of No Way Jose and Rich Swann made their on screen debut as a duo. They spent the time hyping themselves up for the tournament and showed a lot of charisma.
Match 4-Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Match.
Andrade Almas and Cedric Alexander Vs The Revival.

The main event of this week’s NXT saw the team of Andrade “Cien” Almas and Cedric Alexander take on the NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival. After last week’s match against each other it’s interesting to see Almas and Alexander team up against the established team of The Revival. Can they coexist?
These guys had a great match as was expected. With both teams keeping it fast paced and entertaining, you couldn’t expect anything else. In the end, the champs came away with the win after hitting the Shatter Machine on Alexander.
Winners-The Revival.
After the match, Almas attacked Alexander out of nowhere! The attack saw Almas slamming him onto the steel steps. This is probably the best thing for Almas as he hasn’t really connected with fans much since debuting.
Closing Thoughts
This was a good episode of NXT. The main focus of the show was on the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and rightfully so. With two matches and backstage interviews from some teams in the tournament, all eyes were on the tournament. Samoa Joe doing some of his best work in a while as well and with a surprise heel turn this was a good episode of NXT and one to watch.
