Something very strange is going on with the WWE Network. Yesterday, complaints began to flood in that the ‘Continue Watching’ list had completely disappeared. Sure enough, our own tests showed the list was indeed gone across multiple platforms. Of course, we didn’t originally know if the list was just deactivated while the service’s technical team made some changes. The list has always been glitchy, with completed videos often becoming permanently stuck, creating serious clutter in the video history. So, it made sense that bugs were potentially being squashed at last.
Well, now the feature has been re-added to the UI, but seems to be more broken than ever before. Progress is no-longer being saved across different devices and newly viewed content isn’t being added. For all intents and purposes, a key feature has been rendered useless.
To be completely fair, this cannot be purely labelled as incompetence. We have it on good authority that the WWE Network’s technical team are constantly tweaking code in the search for optimisation. With the Network never having any downtime, issues like this are inevitable. Such information may understandably not appease paying subscribers, but it is a worthwhile perspective to keep in mind.
As always, if you’re affected by this issue it’s best to contact WWE directly. Twitter’s @AskWWENetwork is usually the best place to push issues with the service, as they’re historically very good at sending error reports to the right team.
Stick with WWE Network News for updates on this situation as it develops.
