Well, this is interesting. People have been requesting RAW Talk for quite some time since Talking Smack debuted. For those unaware, Talking Smack is a post-show for Smackdown Live each week, along with Smackdown exclusive pay-per-views starting with their last event, No Mercy. The show is hosted by Renee Young and Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan as they discuss the brand, the happenings from the show, and interview talent. Many wanted RAW Talk, as they felt both shows deserved equal footing, and the off script nature of the shows lends to more interesting character development and promos.
Some have been hesitant of the idea, as RAW is so much longer than Smackdown with the extra hour, and others feel Talking Smack gives Smackdown some special identity. But as it turns out, those hoping for RAW Talk are in luck as following Hell in a Cell this Sunday will be the first ever edition of the show. It will start immediately following Hell in a Cell, and it isn’t even on the official WWE Network schedule. Similarly to when Talking Smack was taken off the schedule for No Mercy, it is likely because it will air in between the 10:30 PM EST and 11 PM EST hour. Although it isn’t on the official WWE Network schedule, it is mentioned on the WWE.com version of what’s new.
There is a catch, of course. We have no information on what this actually means aside from one episode of RAW Talk will take place following Hell in a Cell. Will it become a weekly thing with RAW Talk following WWE RAW every week? Or will it be pay-per-view exclusive? Maybe it will be a one time shot altogether. Will Renee Young still host, and if so, will she be joined by Mick Foley? For now we have more questions than answers, but we have less than a week to find out. We will update you if and when we learn more.
