Another week means more WWE Network additions are here! Like every week, we had several items added to the video on demand library, while we also had some original content. But was it enough?
It should be noted that there were a few more uploads aside from what you will see below. As always, we had both NXT and Superstars, which were reviewed elsewhere on the site. Beyond that, we saw the classic content drop for the month finish Smackdown from 2005 being completed. Lastly, we are two different WWE Network collections added to the service highlighting a feud and a Hall of Fame star. But what else was added? And how was it? Let’s take a look:
RAW Pre-Show
The RAW Pre-Show this week was all about the fallout from Hell in a Cell and the build towards Survivor Series. With Survivor Series less than two weeks in a row and brand supremacy being a hot topic, it only makes sense that the Pre-Show would focus on that quite a bit. Perfectly fine stuff.
Scott Stanford was the host, as usual. And alongside him was the usual trio of Hall of Famers in Lita, Booker T, and Jerry Lawler. We also had the usual Charly Caruso and Cathy Kelley segments, which help make it feel a bit different from the RAW show. Not must see, but fun for what it is.
Smackdown Pre-Show
The Smackdown Pre-Show attempted to set itself apart from the RAW Pre-Show this week with the panel doing something a little bit different. Instead of just going over the show, they also had each of the three Hall of Famers create fantasy Survivor Series teams. And it was… odd to say the least. But it was fun, too.
Jerry Lawler, Lita, and Booker T joined Scott Stanford and although they did the Survivor Series teams thing, they still broke down the Smackdown show that was coming along with discussing Survivor Series and next week’s 900th edition of the program. Decent episode and the Survivor Series bit was fun and helped it feel different.
WWE Talking Smack
“Renee Young catches up with your favorite SmackDown LIVE Superstars after the show to hear their thoughts on all of the evening’s action.”
This Week in WWE
The most recent edition of This Week in WWE was primarily focused on the RAW brand. This makes sense, as the RAW brand just had their exclusive pay-per-view event WWE Hell in a Cell 2016. Beyond that, the focus took to the build for Survivor Series, which will feature both brands in action, and mostly against each other. This is a good recap for those who don’t watch the weeklies.
Main Event
“Featuring Tyler Breeze vs. Zack Ryder and The Ascension vs. American Alpha.”
RAW
“Charlotte defends the RAW Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks in the main event. Seth Rollins vows to cancel the ‘Kevin Owens Show’.”
Smackdown
“Tensions between Dean Ambrose, John Cena, and WWE World Champion AJ Styles explode. Kane battles Bray Wyatt. Dolph Ziggler feels the spirit.”
Closing Thoughts
This was a very slow week. Even with the collections added, the lack of original content is extremely disappointed. Hopefully next week will be stronger with Survivor Series and NXT Takeover. The big four are usually surrounded by a lot of original content.
Unfortunately due to a site error, a lot of work was lost. However I still wanted to get this out to you. Just know you can likely skip the RAW replay but always check out Talking Smack. This week’s guests included Becky Lynch, The Miz, Maryse, Tyler Breeze, and Fandango.
