In a WWE Network News exclusive, we can confirm that a specific section for WWE’s holiday special, Tribute to the Troops will be returning to the service this Friday. The only special we know is ready for upload so far is the 2014 edition. This show was previously uploaded last year and then removed for unknown reasons along with the entire section. It’s also very likely that the Tribute shows that aired as part of weekly TV will be copied over as well. Finally, we may also see the debut of last year’s special, which has been very conspicuous in its absence.
However, there is a caveat. A further piece of information we’ve received points to this returning content being temporary. The cut-off point is reportedly set for January 31st, 2017. This of course points to a festive time frame.
Long time subscribers may remember a period when rolling content was a fad for the Network. Yes, the service still removes the odd video or collection here and there, but back in 2014, entire categories of videos were specifically designed for a month-long window. As you might expect, this angered many subscribers. Of course, this could be a return to this philosophy or just a special one-off attraction for the holidays.
