Hey, guys, and welcome to this week’s review of NXT, and we are in for quite a show as we will determine a new number one contender to challenge Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship, and after injury, Hideo Itami returns to action in the hopes of getting to Bobby Roode and the NXT Championship. Let’s get the ball rolling. After the new intro package, we are brought in by the usual commentary team of Tom Philips, Percy Watson and Nigel McGuiness who hype tonight’s show.
Killian Dain With Eric Young VS Danny Burch
Straight domination by Killian Dain who was all over Danny Burch here right from the get-go. Dain landed a vicious Senton and followed with some Jumping Elbow Drops. When Burch managed to recover he managed to get some offensive kicks, but it did not last long at all, as Dain took right back over and finished Burch off with Ulster Plantation. That was complete domination.

Heavy Machinery VS Local Competitors
Ortis Dozovic and Tucker Knight once again dominated right off the bat and the locals stood no chance and it was ended very quickly when Dozovic picked up both men and Knight performed a Cross Body onto the back of Dozovic taking out both guys for the win. Post match, they get on the mic having a bit of fun, before getting serious and wanting to challenge the Authors Of Pain. Now that would be a clash of titans.

Backstage with DIY who praise Heavy Machinery, yet they are welcoming the competition, and they are owed a fair one on one rematch for the NXT Tag Team Championships, so the line starts behind DIY.
Kona Reeves VS Hideo Itami
Kona Reeves kicks off before the bell even rings with an attack on Hideo Itami. Reeves does well to stay on Itami and it is clear that Reeves wants to make a name for himself. He gave Itami too much time to recover, and when Itami starts kicking, he is very hard to stop. And correct it proved to be when he landed his Corner Dropkick and followed with the GTS. Itami takes one step closer to Bobby Roode.

We were then shown a great highlight package of Drew McIntyre. I honestly cannot wait to see what NXT brings him. And to me, Bobby Roode VS Drew McIntyre is money.
Following last week’s awesome ‘Who Is Roderick Strong Part One’, this week the story continued with part two. This part was all about Strong’s fiancee, becoming a Dad, and more about his career and journey. It was amazing to have him talk about Ring Of Honor as well. Truly great insight into Roderick Strong’s life, and a great watch. I really recommend watching this.
William Regal is in his office with NXT Champion Bobby Roode and wants to talk about NXT Takeover Chicago. Roode feels that Hideo Itami needs to earn his chance. Regal announces that next week, Hideo Itami will take on Roderick Strong and the winner will face Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship In Chicago. Either way, we are in for a cracker, regardless of who wins next week.
Women’s Number One Contendership Battle Royal: Lacey Evans VS Billie Kay VS Peyton Royce VS Nikki Cross VS Liv Morgan VS Ruby Riot VS Ember Moon VS Aliyah VS Bianca Blair VS Candice LeRae VS Kimberly Frankele VS Rachel Evers VS Sonya Deville VS Victoria Gonzalez VS Sara Bridges
All-out action from the start as expected in a battle royal. And all women managed some action as thankfully nobody was eliminated very early on which was great to see, every woman got their opportunity. Back from commercial and we now have two eliminations, Victoria Gonzalez and Bianca Blair, both of which taken out by Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. Rachel Evers was then eliminated by Aliyah, and then the eliminations kept coming as both Sonya Deville and Lacey Evans were taken out the game again by the Australian pair, who were on fire. Ruby Riot then took out Kimberly Frankele with a Huricanrana over the top rope which looked awesome. Candice LeRae was next out, again courtesy of Billie Kay, which was quickly followed with Nikki Cross eliminating Aliyah. Now down to six women left: Live Morgan, Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay and Ruby Riot. Nikki Cross then eliminated Liv Morgan and it was just an all-out brawl between all women who were all vying for the same prize. Ember Moon managed to eliminate both Billie Kay and Peyton Royce back to back, one after the other and before we knew it we were down to the final three of Ember Moon, Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot. This was anyone’s game. I must say though that up until this point, Kay and Royce were the stars of the match, such a well-oiled unit and displayed dominance throughout. All three of the remaining women got some offence in and Moon caught Cross with the Eclipse which as always looked awesome. However, Moon could not recover quick enough to eliminate Cross. After knocking Riot down, Moon climbed to the top rope for what looked like an attempt at the Eclipse on Riot, but out of nowhere popped NXT Women’s Champion Asuka to take out Ember Moon, causing the no contest by pushing her off the ropes and whipping her out of the ring. Moon looked legit injured here, it was a scary sight and I sure hope that this is nothing serious that causes any setback. Asuka then proceeded to attack both Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross leaving both laid in the ring, before claiming that ‘Nobody Is Ready For Asuka’ and making a quick exit. Now that was a statement made. To end the show, William Regal announces that at Takeover Chicago, Asuka will defend the NXT Women’s Championship in a fatal four-way match against Ruby Riot, Nikki Cross and Ember Moon. I sure hope Ember Moon can make it.

Overall Thoughts
Another great show as we all get ready for Chicago. It was nice to see Killian Dain in singles action, despite it not lasting long. Heavy Machinery continue their path of dominance and have made their intentions clear, they want the Authors and the NXT Tag Team Championships. Hideo Itami came back with a bang last week and returned to action this week with a win over Kona Reeves, and he now looks toward Chicago and Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship. And finally, I thought the women’s Battle Royal was awesome, packed with action, despite some eliminations happening quickly, each woman got a fair shot and was in the ring for a while. The fatal four way that has been made for Chicago is going to be epic, I look forward to it very much. It is safe to now say that Asuka has full blown turned heel, so that story going forward will be very interesting. Ember Moon will now be gunning for the champion and the championship even more, and I can’t wait to see these women go at it.
