WWE Network Adds New “Old School” Shows; Could This Be June’s Classic Content?

Just when you think you have WWE Network figured out as far as its routines go, they always seem to like to throw a curveball. In this case, new “episodes” of Old School. For those unaware, Old School is effectively WWE’s way of repurposing classic live events or “house shows”. The series has been effectively dead for two years, so its resurrection is understandably surprising.

The Old School events added today is from March 17th, 1985, exactly 2 weeks prior to the inaugural WrestleMania and a unique 12/19/77 show that features both the WWWF and NWA World Championships defended on the same card. The ’85 show features Tito Santana challenging Greg Valentine for the Intercontinental Championship and Roddy Piper and Mr T continuing their rivalry heading into the historic event. Meanwhile, the MSG event from 1977 sees Mil Mascaras challenge Billy Graham for his WWWF Championship, while Rick Martel looks to wrest the NWA crown from Harley Race.

One final note is that the new Old School shows are tagged with the yellow “Just Added” label, a distinction usually reserved for monthly classic content drops.
