While we’ve had a fairly good idea of when the Mae Young Classic would air on WWE Network for a while, SquaredCircleSirens has now provided us with some major details directly from WWE.
We now know for sure that the first 4 episodes of the tournament will be made available for on-demand viewing on August 28th, while the second half of these 8 episodes will be uploaded on September 4th. The final 5 matches will take place on September 12th during a live special from Las Vegas at 10 PM EST. Considering this will be a Tuesday, This also practically guarantees the bumping of 205 Live from its usual timeslot (which usually airs at the same time) and may also cause problems for the popular Talking Smack.
Something else that was confirmed by the site is that Lita will call the action alongside the iconic Jim Ross. Lita spent time backstage as a producer and was a regular face on pay-per-view kickoff panels, but WWE chose to release the Hall of Famer from her contract earlier this year.
The Mae Young Classic is set to feature 32 female competitors in a single-elimination tournament. 9 wrestlers have been named so far, with two more set to earn their spots during future NXT episodes (no spoilers here, folks!)
