WWE’s latest big event aired tonight when RAW and SmackDown united for WWE Money in the Bank. The event featured multiple championship matches, two big-time Ladder Matches, and more. Hype going into the event seemed quite high, with WWE business on fire as of late. But who won the matches? Let’s move onto the results!
Money in the Bank Results
Below are the WWE Money in the Bank Kickoff results and notes for 07/01/23:
- Matt Camp, Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg host the Kickoff show over at WWE Headquarters.
- The hosts announced that the Men’s MITB match will start the PLE off.
- The competitors of the Women’s MITB match make talking head promos about whether they’ll win the match.
- As a promotional item, there’s a special MITB themed WWE 2k23 Locker Room Code announced for the MyFaction mode.
- The WWE Shop advertisement got updated with a summer aesthetic.
- Kayla Braxton knocked on Roman Reigns’ locker room door, which lead to Paul Heyman coming out of the door on the verge of crying. Braxton asked him about the Bloodline Civil War, where he warned that Roman won’t be just the Tribal Chief, but will wipe The Uso’s from the family by any means necessary.
Below are the WWE Money in the Bank results for 07/01/23:
- Men’s Money in the Bank: Judgement Day’s Damien Priest defeated Logan Paul, Butch, Shinsuke Nakamura, Ricochet, LA Knight and Santos Escobar.
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (c) by pinfall to become the new champions.
- WWE Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) defeated Matt Riddle by submission to retain.
- Cody Rhodes defeated Judgement Day’s Dominik Mysterio by pinfall.
- Women’s Money in the Bank: Damage CTRL’s Iyo Sky defeated Damage CTRL’s Bayley, Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus, Zelina Vega and Zoey Stark.
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth “Freakin'” Rollins (c) defeated Judgement Day’s Finn Bálor by pinfall to retain.
- Bloodline Civil War: The Uso’s defeated Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa by pinfall.
Below are other relevant notes pertaining to WWE Money in the Bank for 07/01/23:
- Shayna Baszler turned on Ronda Rousey during the finish of the Women’s Tag Team Championship match.
- Senior Money in the Bank Damian Priest did an interview with Kayla Braxton, saying that he will be a champion when he cashes in the briefcase.
- Drew McIntyre cut Gunther’s IC Championship celebration short to face him off, eventually turning it into McIntyre giving him the Claymore Kick.
- John Cena came out as a surprise to rile up the London crowd further and to advocate for an eventual WrestleMania in London. However, Grayson Waller interrupted Cena to advocate for WM to go to Australia and to challenge him to a match on that hypothetical show. He concluded his talk by offering him a spot on the Grayson Waller Effect, which Cena passed on. Waller then promptly attacked Cena, but lost the brawl thanks to an AA.
- Señor Money in the Bank Damian Priest came out during the World Heavyweight Championship match and teased a cash-in. He also helped Rollins in retaining his championship due to Priest distracting Bálor at the end of the match, which resulted in Balor and Priest arguing after the match.
- Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were in the skybox and were interviewed about the Bloodline Civil War.
- As Roman got pinned in the Bloodline Civil War, this is the first time he got pinned to lose a match since December 2019.
