Germany’s wXw is the only independent promotion currently offered on Peacock & WWE Network, which they started supporting on there from January 2023 onwards. wXw has been putting out shows on a mostly weekly basis on Saturdays since the indie drops started back in August 2020.
Although wXw events are second-run, as their events air on their own service (wXwNOW via YouTube membership) first, we will report on the happenings of wXw events as they come to the WWE Network to give the promotion, and the European scene, some more deserved exposure. It will also serve as a way to prime readers on eventual standouts that might join NXT Europe in the future.
wXw Wrestling Results
wXw Drive of Champions is a marquee event since 2019 that features championship matches. Almost all championships were on the line, except for the wXw Women’s Championship due to the champion Ava Everett moving back to the United States with her title. Did every champion walk out of DoC as they walked in or will the challengers’ drives be too much to overcome? Find out below!

- Tristan Archer defeated Peter Tihany by pinfall.
- Fast Time Moodo defeated Aliss Ink by pinfall.
- Team wXw (Anil Marik, Elijah Blum and The Rotation) defeated Team CZW (Griffin McCoy, Matt Quay and Michael Mistretta) by pinfall.
- Strap: Norman Harras defeated Levaniel.
- wXw Shotgun Championship: AMBOSS’ Laurance Roman (c) defeated Patrick Bork by pinfall to retain.
- Winner gets #30 spot at STTT, loser gets #1 spot: Baby Allison defeated Maggot, Metehan and Aigle Blanc by pinning Maggot.
- wXw World Tag Team Championship 2/3 Falls: OnlyFriends (Bobby Gunns and Michael Knight) defeated AMBOSS’ Arrows of Hungary (Dover and Icarus) (c) with 2-1 to become the new champions.
- wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: Shigehiro Irie (c) defeated Mike D Vecchio by pinfall to retain.
- wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: AMBOSS’ Robert Dreissker defeated Shigehiro Irie (c) by pinfall to become the new champion.
Non-match notes:
- This event was taped on June 17th and aired on wXwNOW first on June 22nd.
- Before the show went on air, wXw had a Fight Forever match taped for YouTube featuring Calypso, CZW’s JC Storm and Julia Suikerbuijk vs US standout Devlyn Macabre, Michelle Green and CZW’s Ruthless Lala. The match is available to be seen for free by clicking on the names.
- The event started off with a backstage segment where Robert Dreissker said that his AMBOSS members (wXw Shotgun Champion Laurance Roman and wXw World Tag Team Champion Arrows of Hungary) will be defending their respective championships alone compared to previously, where AMBOSS members stood alongside which member was competing.
- Tristan Archer attacked Peter Tihany after their match as Tihany was arguing with the ref considering the finish.
- Aliss Ink and Fast Time Moodo shook hands after their match.
- wXw Women’s Champion Ava Everett cut a taped promo about her return to the United States and being the first American to defend the title successfully in the US. She also challenged MLW World Women’s Featherweight Champion Delmi Exo to a title vs title match. In July, Delmi defeated Ava at MLW Never Say Never to become the new wXw Women’s Champion.
- The Rotation made his wXw return from injury at this event.
- This event had the WWE Network debut of the following wrestlers: Griffin McCoy, Matt Quay, Michael Mistretta and Patrick “Cy”Borg
- Metehan came ringside during the strap match to help Norman.
- Levaniel put Norman in the crossface after the Strap match as Norman boasted that he defeated Levaniel.
- Baby Allison and Maggot argued backstage before the 4-way, which ended in Allison walking off.
- After Shigehiro Irie defended his wXw Unified World Title against Mike D, the whole of AMBOSS came out with Robert Dreissker challenging Irie. As Irie said anytime, Dreissker made it an impromptu challenge, which Irie accepted.
- After Dreissker won the wXw Unified World Wrestling Title, he cut a promo about how AMBOSS is dominating the European wrestling scene and then instructed Shotgun Champion Laurance Roman to attack Dover as Dreissker sees him as the weak link of AMBOSS. His tag team partner Icarus stood by during the attack and then walked away with the rest of the group after the beatdown to end the show.
- As a post-show extra, wXw introduced the Shotgun Vlog series starting with this event which is freely available on wXw’s YouTube Channel.
