WWE’s latest big event aired tonight when RAW and SmackDown united for WWE WrestleMania 40. The event featured multiple championship matches, the return of The Rock, and more. Hype going into the event seemed quite high, with WWE business on fire as of late. But who won the matches? Let’s move onto the results!
WrestleMania Results
Below are the WWE Countdown to WrestleMania 40 Saturday notes and results for 04/06/24:
- The Rock, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, Triple H, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso with Solo Sikoa, Finn Balor/Damien Priest, New Day, DIY, Awesome Truth, New Catch Republic, Austin Theory/Grayson Waller were shown entering the area.
- Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Big E and CM Punk host the Countdown show panel for the first hour.
- Jackie Redmond was standby at the Bloodline locker room while Byron Saxton was standby at Cody’s tour bus where he explained what Rhodes said to him, Kayla Braxton was standby at Seth Rollins’ locker room to speak on what’s at stake for Rollins.
- Megan Morant interviewed WWE COO Triple H at WWE HQ earlier in the week about WrestleMania, TKO and behind the scenes of the whole process. The second part of that interview will air next week.
- Braun Strowman and Pete Rosenberg talked about the main event tag match in a bar to advertise Wheatley American Vodka.
- Jackie Redmond interviewed Sami Zayn about his IC Title match.
- Cathay Kelley interviewed Trish Stratus about the Women’s World Championship match and said “you’ll never know” on the question on if Trish would ever return.
- JBL, Natalya have been interviewed about their experience of WrestleMania Week and gave their say about the current happenings.
- Tom Rinaldi gave the introductory speech that led to a video package about a tragic yet sympathetic moment between Trey Smith and Joey Borgonzi involving both NFL and WWE.
- Jackie Redmond and Wade Barrett replaced Michael Cole and Pat McAfee in the second hour of the Countdown.
- Cathy Kelley interviewed Finn Balor and Damien Priest about their Tag Title ladder match.
- Byron Saxton awarded three charitable organizations of Philadelphia $50.000,- on behalf of WWE and Slim Jim.
- Nick Aldis joined the panel to talk about how he acquired Jade Cargill on SmackDown.
- Michael Cole narrated a video package about his experience with WrestleMania.
- Peter Rosenberg, Omos and MVP visited the Down North pizzeria to talk about their concept (helping past incarcerated people reintegrate into society).
- Kayla Braxton interviewed Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar about their tag match.
- Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins did a sit-down interview about their tag match.
- Triple H is shown entering the Gorilla Position as the Kickoff drew to a close.

- World Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) defeated Becky Lynch by pinfall to retain.
- Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Ladder: Austin Theory/Grasyon Waller (SmackDown) and Awesome Truth (Raw) defeated Judgement Day ©, DIY, New Catch Republic and New Day. The Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships have been separated as a result.
- Andrade and Rey Mysterio defeated Judgement Day’s Dominik Mysterio and LDF’s Santos Escobar by pinfall.
- Jey Uso defeated Jimmy Uso by pinfall.
- Bianca Belair, Naomi and Jade Cargill defeated Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kabuki Warriors by pinfall.
- WWE Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn defeated Gunther (c) by pinfall to become the new champion.
- Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Rock defeated Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins by pinfall.

- This is technically the first WrestleMania to air on Netflix as it aired there in New Zealand only.
- WWE introduced a new signature intro at this event.
- Rapper Meek Mill narrated the opening package.
- Coco Jones sang America The Beautiful to kick the PLE off.
- WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Lesveque introduced the WWE fans to a new era.
- Becky Lynch’s entrance started with excerpts from her book.
- Motionless in White performed Rhea Ripley’s theme during her entrance.
- A trailer for Rebel Moon Part 2 aired after the opener.
- A fully new commercial for WWE Shop aired.
- JD McDonagh interfered in the match to prevent R-Truth from winning the Raw Tag Team Championship.
- Olympic Gold Medalist Jordan Burroughs, George Kittle, Vanessa Hudgens, Wale, Druski were shown in the crowd.
- Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson in masks prevented Dominik Mysterio from using the chair at the end of the match.
- Lil Wayne rapped a small bit before Jey Uso’s entrance.
- Cody Rhodes was shown getting out of his tour bus with a special jacket in his hand.
- A group of geisha women accompanied Damage CTRL during their entrance.
- Bianca Belair, Naomi and Jade Cargill came out together on a podium next to the original stage.
- The Miz starred in a new Snickers commercial.
- Sami Zayn’s wife, son, Chad Gable and Kevin Owens came backstage to encourage Zayn before his IC Title match.
- The general managers of Raw and SmackDown to thank the fans and announce the attendance of tonight.
- The Rock’s entrance had a special intro, plus he entered with the People’s Championship that was awarded to him at the Hall of Fame.
- The Rock threatened to fire the referee if he kept on counting.
- Due to Rock and Reigns winning the main event, tomorrow’s main event will be held under Bloodline rules.
