As WWE’s global Netflix deal is nearing, Netflix itself started to work more on professional wrestling content. While WWE worked with Netflix in the past with The Big Show Show and Escape The Undertaker, and the streaming service made their own productions with GLOW and OVW’s Wrestlers, Netflix has one new series up its sleeve featuring one of the most controversial figures in professional wrestling.

Produced by Bill Simmons and Chris Smith, previously known for Tiger King, Netflix’s Mr. McMahon dives into the life and past of the ex-chairman of WWE, ex-wrestler and alleged sexual deviant Vince McMahon. Including 200 hours of interviews with people including John Cena, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Bret Hart and Vince McMahon himself, amongst others. This series will offer a look at the steroid scandal, his creation of WWE as known from 1984-2022 and will touch on the Janel Grant lawsuit that is currently ongoing (although no-one else involved in the lawsuit outside of Vince got interviewed for this documentary), amongst other topics. The trailer is available to be watched below:
This docuseries will release on September 25th on Netflix worldwide with six episodes, reportedly lasting one hour each. As the WWE Network is globally moving into Netflix at the start of 2025, this site will cover wrestling-centric content on both platforms from this article onwards.
So what do you think? Will you watch the Mr McMahon docuseries or leave it be? Are there any moments from McMahon’s career or life you’d like to see covered in the docuseries?
