WWE SmackDown is one of WWE’s premier weekly shows featuring some of the best WWE Superstars, plus some of the biggest storylines going into the PLE’s and has been running since 1999. The Championships featured the Undisputed WWE Championship, WWE (Men’s) United States, WWE Tag Team, WWE Women’s and the WWE Women’s United States Championships, plus the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from time to time. Although this show originally airs on traditional television (and still does in some markets), live airings moved to Netflix for the majority of the world, hence why we started to cover Raw, SmackDown and NXT from January onwards. Our results are quick and to the point and by no means a comprehensive blow-by-blow account of the given episode. Below are the latest WWE SmackDown results for 04/04/25:
- Rey Fenix defeated NXT Tag Team Champion Nathan Frazer by pinfall after a MMB.
- WWE United States Champion LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga by pinfall after a BFT.
- WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s: Motor City Machine Guns defeated DIY by pinfall after a move dodge into the exposed turnbuckle.
- Naomi defeated B-Fab by pinfall after a pull-in codebreaker.
- WWE United States Championship #1 Contender’s Last Man Standing: Jacob Fatu defeated Braun Strowman.
Non-match notes relevant to WWE SmackDown for 04/04/25:
- Michin vs Sol Ruca got taped for Speed before the show went live.
- CM Punk kicked the show off to thank the Chicago crowd and his family. Paul Heyman then came out and thanked Punk for helping the Bloodline at Survivor Series before asking him what his favor is. However, Punk said he’ll reveal it to Roman Reigns’ face.
- Byron Saxton interviewed Rey Fenix after his debut win.
- Berto wants to face Rey Fenix in the future to prove himself to Santos Escobar.
- Solo Sikoa barged into Braun’s interview to intimidate him, but US Champion LA Knight barged in to back Braun up and trashed Tama, leading into their scheduled match.
- Paul Heyman accepted Punk’s upcoming favor unconditionally and thought Roman was pulling up in the driveway, but that revealed to be Seth Rollins instead who wanted to know the favor as well.
- WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair had a face-off that went pretty personal and even off-script, plus with the crowd booing every time Charlotte said something.
- WWE Tag Team Champions Street Profits sat in the crowd to watch the contender’s match.
- Jade Cargill attacked Naomi before the match, but the match didn’t get canceled. She then attacked again after the match and punched security with it as well. GM Nick Aldis announced Cargill vs Naomi at WrestleMania.
- Kevin Owens announced he will be out indefinitely due to a neck injury that needs surgery. With that, Randy Orton came in and Aldis announced that Orton is off of WrestleMania with this, which leads to an RKO to the GM.
- CM Punk’s favor to Roman Reigns was revealed to be Paul Heyman managing Punk at WrestleMania, leading to a confrontation and Punk hitting Reigns with a GTS, leaving Punk standing tall.
The following matches and segments are announced for next week on 04/11/25:
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship #1 contender’s gauntlet.
- Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest face-to-face.
- Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes returns.
- Berto vs Rey Fenix.
