WWE SmackDown is one of WWE’s premier weekly shows featuring some of the best WWE Superstars, plus some of the biggest storylines going into the PLE’s and has been running since 1999. The Championships featured the Undisputed WWE Championship, WWE (Men’s) United States, WWE Tag Team, WWE Women’s and the WWE Women’s United States Championships, plus the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from time to time. Although this show originally airs on traditional television (and still does in some markets), live airings moved to Netflix for the majority of the world, hence why we started to cover Raw, SmackDown and NXT from January onwards. Our results are quick and to the point and by no means a comprehensive blow-by-blow account of the given episode. Below are the latest WWE SmackDown results for 05/02/25:
- Damian Priest vs LA Knight fought to a no-contest due to Solo Sikoa attacking both competitors.
- Fraxiom defeated Pretty Deadly by pinfall after a Spanish Fly/phoenix splash chain.
- Aleister Black defeated The Miz by pinfall after a Black Mass.
- WWE Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega defeated Piper Niven by pinfall with a jackknife roll up.
- Rey Fenix defeated Santos Escobar by pinfall after a diving meteora.
- Jade Cargill and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defeated Naomi and Nia Jax by pinfall after a powerbomb.
Non-match notes relevant to WWE SmackDown for 05/02/25:
- Damian Priest and US Champion Jacob Fatu argued backstage to start SmackDown.
- LA Knight and Damian Priest engaged in a heated exchange, blaming each other for their respective losses and frustrations, ultimately leading to an impromptu match later in the show.
- Pretty Deadly interrupted Fraxiom´s interview to challenge them to a match right after.
- B-Fab and Michin met with Nick Aldis, but Chelsea Green, accompanied by Piper Niven and Alba Fyre, demanded a rematch after claiming collusion in their last loss; Aldis instead scheduled Niven to face Zelina Vega, with future a title shot if Piper wins, leaving Green shocked.
- Nia Jax declared her intention to win the WWE Women’s Championship, prompting challenges from Tiffany Stratton and Naomi, leading to a brawl that culminated in a tag team match being set up between Stratton and Cargill against Jax and Naomi.
- Santos Escobar scolded Rey Fenix for his WM loss. Fenix responded by challenging him to a match.
- GM Nick Aldis announced that Jacob Fatu has to defend his US Title against Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest and LA Knight in a fatal 4-way at Backlash.
- Randy Orton delivered a scathing promo on John Cena, criticizing Cena’s character, business practices, and lack of loyalty, vowing to defeat him at Backlash in his hometown.
- Santos argued with Los Garza and later Andrade.
- Stratton and Cargill faced off with the Women’s Title in between them until Naomi attacked both and posed with the title to end the show..
