It’s the most wonderful time of the year as WrestleMania did its 42nd edition today! The biggest professional wrestling show of the year has been running since 1985 and still goes stronger than the previous year as one of the biggest spectacles of the year. This day will feature multiple titles on the line such as the WWE Women’s Championship, United States Championship and the Intercontinental Championship, plus feuds getting settled such as Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi and, not to forget, CM Punk defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. Below are the Countdown to WWE WrestleMania 42 Sunday notes and results for 04/19/26:
- Big E, Wade Barrett, Corey Graves and Joe Tessitore hosted the Countdown panel at the start. Tyrese Haliburton replaced Barrett for the majority of hour 2.
- Redmond announced that Cody Rhodes isn’t medically cleared due to an orbital bone injury sustained from yesterday’s punt kick.
- Booker T interviewed Lash Legend, Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams.
- Joe Hendry got interviewed about WrestleMania
- Highlights of the Oba Femi strut competition were shown.
- Dominik Mysterio vs Finn Balor was made to be a Street Fight by Adam Pearce.
- Rey Mysterio was interviewed about the IC ladder match and his injury from last WrestleMania.
- Joe Jonas sang the USA anthem before the main show started.

- Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar by pinfall after a Fall From Grace.
- WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder: Penta (c) defeated JD McDonagh, Rusev, Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans and Rey Mysterio to retain.
- WWE United States Championship: Trick Williams defeated Sami Zayn by pinfall after a Trickshot to become the new champion.
- Street Fight: “The Demon” Finn Balor defeated AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio by pinfall after a Coup de Grace through the table.
- WWE Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill (c) by pinfall after a Riptide to become the new champion.
- World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk by pinfall after a Spear to become the new champion.
Below are other relevant notes pertaining to WWE WrestleMania 42 Sunday for 04/19/26:
- The first hour (first two matches) of the main show was aired on ESPN in the United States.
- John Cena started the show off before the pyro and graphics change went off.
- Lesnar took off his shoes and gear and left through a standing ovation.
- Dragon Lee, Rusev and JD McDonagh didn’t have their entrances aired.
- Penta had a special intro for his entrance.
- Lil’ Yachty introduced Trick and interfered on his behalf on one occasion.
- Dominik Mysterio entered with a legion of luchadors and got a throne on the stage.
- Adam Weitsman was the guest commentator for the Women’s Championship match.
- John Cena announced a two-night attendance of 106,072 before being interrupted by The Miz and Kit Wilson, leading to a chaotic segment where Danhausen and multiple mini lookalikes attacked Miz and Wilson in comedic fashion before Danhausen awkwardly exited by hiding under the ring.
- Roman Reigns had a drummer and opera singer do the intro to his entrance.
- CM Punk had a Masare Cantare intro for his entrance.
